Music Therapy Classes

The Adaptive and Inclusive Movement (AIM) Initiative offers adaptive arts for students with disabilities or neurodiversity to move, listen, experience, and learn in an inclusive and welcoming space.

 Music Therapy Classes

Music therapy is an evidence-based approach to treatment for people of all ages including infants; children; people with autism, ADHD, and other disabilities; neurodiverse individuals; and seniors with Alzheimer's and dementia. Research continues to show that people with autism, ADHD, and other disabilities can increase functional life skills during music therapy. By using each person's favorite music and music activities, music therapy gives kids and adults the opportunity to increase communication, social, motor and cognitive skills; increase emotional regulation and attention span.

Our Music Therapy Classes provide a welcoming environment full of creative activities designed to match the needs and interests of each student with disabilities or neurodiversity. Students can be paired with shared support, attend class independently, and interact with other students and teachers. We work with caregivers to create a classroom where every student can feel successful.

Shared Support will be provided for each sutdent. At this time, we are unable to provide nursing or medical care, support severe challenging behaviors, including self-harm or harm to others, or have a history of running away. Students requiring specialized care in these areas are welcome to join our classes if the family provides a caregiver.
